A little about me .. and welcome!

With 15 years experience walking my own and friends' dogs coupled with a Diploma in Outdoor Recreation & a love for the great outdoors, it was an easy decision to start my own dog walking service. Hiking Hounds Dog Walking Services became a reality in 2006 and, even after all these years, I still love every minute of it and have never looked back!!!

We go out rain or shine and you know, 'magic happens when dogs are together, in nature' and it never ceases to put a smile on my face. Having always been an animal lover, I treat each pet as if it were my own and it isn't long before deep rooted relationships are established through loving personal interaction and my clients recognize that.

Since 2006 I have volunteered at various dog rescues providing transport, home visits, and short term foster care for dogs in need of a new safe loving home. My own 2 dogs which are very active Border Collies were adopted through a wonderful rescue organization and when I saw what good the rescues do, I wanted to be a part of it and give back.

I was also involved in obedience and canine agility for some time with my own dogs and understand the dog's need for exercise, socialization and mental stimulation.

Hiking Hounds Dog Walking Services is owned and operated by Shelley Toomalatai and is licensed and insured.
